Bringing together over 8000 educational professionals and global leaders in the education industry, NAFSA 2025 Annual Conference was no less than a landmark event. Learner Aid, as one of the leading consultancies, attended the conference in the USA this May.

The study abroad consultancy aimed to shake hands with international universities all across the globe. The company closed great partnership deals. Its people explored opportunities that can make a difference in how its students experience the world of global education.

Our Experience at NAFSA 2025

Thought leaders, educators, and passionate university representatives from across the globe were a part of the NAFSA 2025 Conference. Meeting them perfectly coincided with our passion to make international education accessible and impactful for our students.

We had meaningful conversations with university representatives from countries like the US itself, Australia, UK, Ireland, Korea, and the whole of Europe. We also in fact turned tables with partnership collaborations that can directly benefit Indian students.

Every day at NAFSA was about something new. On Day 1, obviously, it started with the commencement of this huge international platform, and we were all occupied soaking in the scale of the event. We attended the opening session and met representatives there itself. Day 2  was all about focused meetings and deeper discussions about specific programs and requirements. Day 3 gave everyone a final call to close all those discussions and finalise the partnerships we had been working on.

We ended the event on a high note and are ready to take all the insights back home and put them into action for our students.

Trends Brought Up In NAFSA 2025

Here are the highlighted topics discussed as insightful sessions, combined with industry reporting, in NAFSA 2025-

  1. Resilience and Community Building

A palpable sense of optimism could be noticed at the event despite great shifts in global politics and visa policy. Educators were noted for emphasizing adaptability and maintaining student trust amidst these challenges.

  1. Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

Institutions and universities have been designing courses and programs that focus on rational equity, belongingness, and justice. This is done in order to offer an inclusive environment to underrepresented students.

  1. Crisis and Risk Planning

Universities are also prioritising protection for their international students in case of health emergencies, crisis planning, policy changes, and any other risk management. Post-COVID learnings, colleges are reshaping how they should respond to uncertainties with robust systems.

  1. Prioritising Reciprocal Partnerships

Transactional recruitments, which are often assumed in regards to partnerships with the universities are fine. But this time we were able to explore strategies that focused on building meaningful multi-lateral collaborations. It definitely benefitted both parties equally.

  1. Holistic Student Wellbeing

Gone are the times when the mental health of the students was at stake. Now, universities aim to add peer support and accessible counselling mandatorily as part of wellness and being in an international student experience.
